Pursuant to the Government of Sudan’s responsibility to address the humanitarian situation in the State of North Darfur, resulting from the RSF terrorist militia’s aggression, the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Health, the North Darfur State Ministry of Health, and the National Fund for Medical Supplies, yesterday air dropped twenty tons of life-saving medicines and medical supplies into the state.
The Acting Minister of Health reirterates the commitment of the National Fund for Medical Supplies to deliver medicines and medical supplies to all regions of the country by land, sea, and air.
Reaffirming its commitment to humanitarian international law, the operation epitomizes the humanitarian role of SAF, as an extension of its heroic fight against the barbaric assault of the terrorist RSF militia on defenseless citizens, and protecting the country’s sovereignty, unity and capabilities.
The delivery of these medical supplies to North Darfur State with the facilitation of SAF, demonstrates that there are multiple ways to provide the citizens of North Darfur State and other affected states with the necessary aid, invalidating the pretext used by some international organizations to justify their failure to do enough to alleviate human suffering, such as insisting on using certain border corridors. In addition, the implementation rate of pledges of humanitarian assistance made previously does not exceed 5%.
The Government of Sudan, therefore, appeals to the international community to provide more assistances, especially medicines and medical consumables.
It once again calls for unequivocal condemnation of the RSF’s terrorist crimes, namely its continuous shelling of hospitals, civilian facilities, residential neighborhoods, and camps for displaced people in El Fasher, as well as preventing humanitarian aid from reaching those in need.
The international community, furthermore, has to recognize the terrorist nature of the Militia and to shoulder its responsibility in confronting its ongoing atrocities against the Sudanese people.
