Al-Burhan: The Army is Capable of Expelling Rebellion from Every Inch of Sudan
The President of the Sovereign Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan, has received in his office, on Thursday, the Secretary-General of the Great Lakes Organization, Ambassador John Somali Kaholu, in the presence of Acting Foreign Minister Hussein Awad Ali.
Al-Burhan expressed Sudan’s thanks and appreciation for the organization’s efforts and its standing by Sudan, and stressed the need for the organization and other organizations to reflect the reality of the situation in Sudan without distortion.
Al-Burhan affirmed the ability of the armed forces to defeat the rebellion and expel it from every inch of Sudan, and with the will of the Sudanese people, who confirmed their complete bias in favor of their national army. For his part, the Secretary-General of the Great Lakes Organization expressed in a press statement the organization’s desire to contribute to resolving the Sudanese crisis and work to stop the war that caused Sudan’s devastation. He promised that the organization would adopt Sudan’s vision in the next stage and reflect it clearly in all international forums without distorting the facts. Acting Foreign Minister Hussein Awad explained that the meeting comes within the framework of the organization’s endeavor to communicate with leaders of African countries and resolve crises. He pointed out that the organization issued a clear statement condemning the violations of the terrorist rebel Rapid Support militia, describing it as an outlaw group.
