On the sidelines of his participation in the ministerial meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku, the acting Foreign Minister Ambassador Ali Al-Sadiq met with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. The two ministers reviewed the close and historical bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, prospects for joint cooperation and ways to enhance and develop it in various fields to serve the interests of the peoples of the two countries. The two ministers also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of common concern.
In addition, the Foreign Minister discussed the developments of events in Sudan and the efforts exerted to limit the impact of the fighting on civilians, despite the rebels' non-compliance with humanitarian truces and their continued violation of international humanitarian law, expressing the Sudanese government's appreciation for the humanitarian aid sent by Turkey during the current crisis.
