The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, met in his office, today the Ambassador of the European Union to Sudan, Aidan O'Hara.
The EU Official Ambassador noted in a press statement describing the meeting as successful, and dealt with the progress of the political process that is taking place with the facilitation of the United Nations Integrated Assistant Mission in Sudan (UNITAMS), the African Union and IGAD, indicating that they stressed their keenness on the necessity of the success of the ongoing political process in Sudan. He added that the meeting discussed the efforts being exerted to join the conservative and opposing forces to the framework agreement in order to broaden the base of consensus around it.
The European Union ambassador added that the meeting also discussed the role of the international community and the European Union to provide humanitarian and economic aid to Sudan, underlining that he had submitted a request to the President of the Sovereignty Council to hold a meeting that includes President Al-Burhan and his Vice-President, Lieutenant General Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, with Special Envoys from the European Union countries,Norway, France and Germany, United States of America and Britain, to discuss ways to make the political process a success and to resume humanitarian and economic aid from the international community to Sudan.
