The Social and Cultural Development Sector of the Council of Ministers held, Sunday, a meeting chaired by the Acting Minister of Education, Mahmoud Siral-Khatim Al-Houri, for reviewing the National Social Protection Strategy (NSPS 2023-2026), presented by the acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development, Jamal Al-Din Abdullah Mansour.
The strategy aimed at enhancing social protection to realize peace and social stability based on rights as well as building social solidarity and strengthening social cohesion, it also targeted boosting of resilience against shocks and crises to achieve the results of enhancing social stability.
The sector stressed the importance of expanding participation in the scope of social protection through preparing a unified record of the strategy and designing public works programs to enable development of skills to ensure and provide basic income to citizens as well as boosting and providing social services.
