Prime Minister Launches Resumption of Production at Sudanese–Malaysian Steel Factory

Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris inaugurated the resumption of operations at the Sudanese–Malaysian Steel Industries Factory in Khartoum, as part of the government’s efforts toward recovery and economic revitalization. He was accompanied by the Minister of Industry and Trade, the Minister of Health, and the Wali of Khartoum State. In his address, the Prime Minister stated that the factory’s return to production sends a message to the world that Sudan has regained its industrial vitality and security stability. He praised the contributions of workers, engineers, and technicians in reconstruction efforts. He reiterated the government’s determination to restore all factories to operation and remove impediments facing the industrial sector, affirming that industrial development is the cornerstone of comprehensive national growth.
The Chairman of the factory’s Board, Atef Abdel-Gadir, welcomed the visit and commended government efforts to facilitate the resumption of production, affirming their commitment to revitalizing industrial projects.
The factory, a key steel producer, has reached 100% operational capacity, with an output of 10,000 tons per month.
