Khartoum: Arrests of Foreign Nationals and Militia Collaborators
The Khartoum State Security Committee reported that joint operations successfully countered criminal activity, recovering 2,063 stolen items, detaining 233 suspects, and seizing weapons. Numerous foreign nationals in violation of laws were also apprehended. During a meeting with the Prime Minister, the committee detailed new security measures, including checkpoints to combat drugs and crime. Authorities seized 80 vehicles without license plates, 424 unlicensed vehicles, and 31 vehicles with licensing violations.
The security cell arrested many militia collaborators, some of whom fought alongside the militia and confessed in legal proceedings. Convictions were issued against some, alongside the apprehension of habitual criminals involved in armed robbery and stolen goods recovered from storage facilities. Regarding voluntary returns, authorities reported a continuing rise, with 86,552 citizens returning this week.
