Government of Sudan welcomes AU-PSC statement
The Government of Sudan has welcomed the statement issued by the 1293rd meeting of the African Peace and Security Council (AU-PSC), chaired by the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, which reiterated AU-PSC strong rejection and condemnation of the establishment of an alleged government by the so-called Ta'asis Alliance and the Al-Dagalo family terrorist militia.
The African Union Peace and Security Council Council affirmed its strong commitment to Sudan's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national unity, and its rejection of all attempts aimed at dismantling the Sudanese state or establishing any parallel structures to its legitimate institutions. The Government of Sudan commended the clear principled position contained in the statement of the African Union Peace and Security Council in support of the transitional government in Sudan, referring to the roadmap announced by His Excellency General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), last February, welcoming the Government of Hope led by His Excellency Dr. Kamil Idris, Prime Minister, and calling on the international community to support it.
The Government of Sudan affirmed its full commitment to delivering humanitarian aid to all those in need in the areas affected by the terrorist militia rebellion.
In this context, it welcomed the explicit paragraph in which the African Union Peace and Security Council held the terrorist Rapid Support Forces (RSF) responsible for the events in El-Fashir and some areas in Darfur and Kordofan, and called for the lifting of the siege on El-Fashir to enable humanitarian aid to reach civilians.
In this regard, the Government of Sudan called on international organizations operating in Sudan to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to civilians in El-Fashir and other areas affected by the terrorist RSF militia's war.
The Government of Sudan noted its repeated calls to the international community, through the UN Security Council and regional and international organizations, to condemn the blatant foreign interference in supporting the terrorist militia and hold the involved countries accountable. It welcomed the AU-PSC condemnation of foreign interference and its emphasis on the need to identify those parties through the Sanctions Subcommittee, in coordination with the Committee on Intelligence and Security Services in Africa (CISSA) and the African Union Mechanism for Police Cooperation (AFRIPOL), and then recommend measures to be taken by the AU Peace and Security Council against them.
The Government of Sudan also welcomed, within the framework of constructive dialogue, positive engagement, and full cooperation with the African Union, a visit by the African Union Peace and Security Council to Sudan at the earliest opportunity to assess the positive developments in the country and the political transition process. At the same time, it expressed its aspiration for the imminent return of the African Union office to Sudan.
