Agar, Kagame discuss bilateral relations and developments in Sudan and the region
Kigali, March 20, 2025 (SUNA) - Vice-President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Commander Malik Agar, met with Rwandan President Paul Kagame on Thursday.
The meeting was attended by Sudan's Ambassador to Rwanda, Khalid Musa, and the Director of the African Affairs Directorate at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Al-Siddig Elias, while the Rwandan side included the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and the Director of Intelligence.
The meeting touched on the bilateral relations and the developments the two countries witnessed. It was agreed to activate joint cooperation mechanisms to achieve the mutual interests of the two countries and peoples.
TSC Vice-President extended briefings on the developments in the country. He stated that Sudan possesses conclusive evidence of negative regional interference supporting the rebellion militarily and logistically, in addition to some neighboring countries that have opened their territories to rebel militias to attack Sudan. He pointed to the major victories achieved by the Sudanese army, which will lead to the liberation of all Sudanese territory from the rebellion in the near future. Sudan's Ambassador to Rwanda, Khalid Musa, explained, in a press statement, that TSC Vice-President pointed out, during the meeting, Kenya's negative role in hosting the rebellion and supporting the formation of a parallel government.
Sudan's Ambassador to Kigali said that Agar renewed Sudan's openness to all solutions that fulfill the desire of Sudan and its people to achieve peace and stability, noting that African solutions will not be feasible in light of Sudan's absence from the African Union and its affiliated institutions. For his part, Rwandan President Paul Kagame expressed his country's full understanding of the Sudanese position and its support for the Sudanese government and people in achieving and sustaining peace. He indicated that his government will strive, through coordination and cooperation with all relevant countries and organizations, to achieve stability in Sudan.
