TSC Member Jabir chairs Supreme Committee for Currency Replacement meeting

Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lt. Gen. Engineer Ibrahim Jabir chaired the meeting of the Supreme Committee for Currency Change and Replacement, in the presence of Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Dr. Gebreil Ibrahim.
The committee appreciated the efforts of banking institutions, the Ministry of Communications and Digital Transformation, and telecommunications companies for their role in facilitating banking operations since the beginning of the replacement process.
The committee directed commercial banks not to deal with some groups that deal in an usurious manner and instructed the security authorities to take the necessary measures regarding these transactions.
The Minister of Finance explained, in a press statement, that the committee listened to complaints from some states regarding the lack of banknotes, indicating that the committee gave directives on providing the necessary banknotes to banks to enable citizens to withdraw the agreed upon amounts.
