Al-Burhan pledges to renovate the Coptic Church
President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan paid an inspection visit, on Saturday, to the Coptic Church on Al-Shingeeti Street in Omdurman, accompanied by TSC Member, Assistant Commander-in-Chief General Yassir Abdel-Rahman Hassan Al-Atta, and the Wali (governor) of Khartoum State, Ahmed Osman Hamza. His Excellency and the accompanied delegation were received by Father Yohanna Anthony, priest of St. George's Church and St. Mina Church.
During the visit, Al-Burhan met with a number of priests and listened to a report on the damages suffered by the Coptic Church as a result of the acts of vandalism and plundering carried out by the rebel terrorist Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia against places of worship. TSC President affirmed his commitment to rehabilitating the church and its attached facilities and returning it to its former glory.
