 President of Sovereignty Council meets Egyptian Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation

The President of the Sovereignty Council Lt. Gen. Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan has stressed the eternity and strength of the relations between the peoples of the Nile Valley and the importance of promoting them to wider horizons. Al-Burhan reiterated, during a meeting at his office Sunday with the Egyptian Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Dr. Hani Sweilem, Sudan's keenness to continue joint cooperation with Egypt in the fields of water and irrigation and to continue convening the Sudan- Egypt Permanent Joint Technical Commission for Nile Water, promising to overcome all obstacles and challenges facing it so that it can play its role in achieving the interests and aspirations of the peoples in the two countries. Meanwhile, the Egyptian Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation conveyed the greetings of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to the President of the Sovereignty Council and his keenness to support his country’s relations progress with Sudan in all fields, especially in the domains of water and irrigation. Dr. Sweilem stressed, in a press statement, the continuation of support and coordination between the two countries in various projects, managing water resources and the resources of the Nile River in an optimal way and the regular convening of the Permanent Joint Technical Commission for Nile Water to contribute to the success of future projects for the peoples of the Nile Valley.
