Al-Burhan: We have clear opinion of necessity of binding agreement on filling of EGRD

Al Burhan13

Khartoum, Apr. 16 (SUNA) - The head of the Transitional Sovereign Council, Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan, indicated that the relationship between him and the Prime Minister of the Transitional Government, Dr. Abdullah Hamdouk, is proceeding in a normal way and there is nothing to disturb it, and it is in the interest of the Sudanese people. In an interview with Al-Hadath channel today, Friday, Al- Burhan noted that the Sudan’s relations with the United States are closely progressing in security and intelligence. The head of the TSC stressed on the need to collect all the weapons from the hands of the citizens to be in the hands of the various security services organs. He pointed to an agreement for the appearance of the former president before the International Criminal Court to achieve justice, indicating that the current economic situation contributes in the obstruction of the implementation of security arrangements on time. Al-Burhan pointed out one visit of Israel delegation to Khartoum, indicating that Sudan did not take the initiative to visit Israel, asserting that Sudan's relations with Israel are limited on security, combating terrorism and illegal immigration. He stressed that relations with the Arab Republic of Egypt are well-established and old and extend for a long history between the two countries in various fields. Regarding the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, Al-Burhan stressed: “we have a clear opinion, which is that there should be a written and binding agreement regarding the filling of the dam in its various stages”, indicating that Sudan will defend its lands and is fully prepared for that. He regretted the escalation with the state of Ethiopia, asserting that the lands of Al-Fashaga are Sudanese by virtue of the documents, calling on Ethiopia to withdraw from Sudanese lands, stressing readiness for coordination on borders. Al-Burhan has pointed to the Sudan beginning of recovery in sports, extending blessing for the Sudan’s National Foot Ball Team's qualification for the African finals. He indicated that the Army does not monopolize the economy and all our financial capabilities are at Sudan's disposal. ta
