Prime Minister Chairs Committee Preparing Conditions for Citizens’ Return to Khartoum

Prime Minister Kamil Idris on Tuesday chaired a meeting of the High Committee tasked with preparing the appropriate environment for the return of citizens to Khartoum State.
At the opening of the meeting, the prime minister expressed appreciation to Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) Engineer Ibrahim Jabir for the significant efforts he made during the previous period. He reaffirmed the determination of the “Government of Hope” to provide full support to citizens to facilitate their return to the national capital, Khartoum. He also underscored the importance of engaging with Sudanese citizens residing abroad and supporting them to accelerate voluntary return.
Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism Khalid Al-Eisir said in a press statement that the prime minister directed the delivery of essential services to all neighborhoods of Khartoum, particularly electricity and water.
Al-Eisir added that the meeting reviewed reports presented by committee heads outlining achievements during the past period and plans for the coming weeks.
The meeting also discussed existing challenges and ways to address impediments facing the committee’s work. The prime minister stressed the need to set clear timelines for restoring services to neighborhoods across Khartoum, particularly electricity and water.
Al-Eisir further noted that the meeting examined several future projects aimed at encouraging citizens to return, revitalizing public life, securing markets, and implementing the necessary security and military plans to create a safe environment for residents.
The meeting also underscored the need to ensure the availability of petroleum products across the cities of the capital, Khartoum.
