Sudan Rejects Israeli Recognition of “Somaliland”, Expresses Concern Over Southern Yemeni Transitional Council Actions

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has expressed its categorical rejection and strong condemnation of the Israeli authorities’ recognition of the so-called “Somaliland,” describing the move as a blatant violation of international charters and norms and a dangerous precedent that could undermine security and stability across the region.
In its statement, the ministry affirmed Sudan’s full solidarity with the brotherly Somali people, reiterating its firm support for the unity of the Federal Republic of Somalia and its full sovereignty over all its territories within internationally recognized borders.
In a related context, the ministry expressed deep concern over the unilateral measures taken by the Southern Transitional Council in Yemen’s Al-Mahrah and Hadramawt governorates, warning of their negative impact on efforts to establish security and restore stability.
The ministry also reiterated its full solidarity with the brotherly Yemeni people, as well as with the Presidential Leadership Council and the Government of the Republic of Yemen, emphasizing the importance of cooperation among all Yemeni forces to end escalation, prioritize the national interest, and spare the country further tension and division.
