Prime Minister Directs Extension of University Application Period

In his keenness to ensure the right of all students to university education and to provide an opportunity for students who were unable to complete the application procedures by the specified deadline, Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris has directed public and private universities to extend the application period for university admission for an appropriate additional period. This is to allow all students to make up for the opportunity and apply to programs that suit their aspirations. In this context, His Excellency directed the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research to follow up on this issue with university administrations to ensure the smooth and fair implementation of the extension. He also urged the Ministry of Education to expedite the issuance of secondary school certificates, to help students by enabling them to complete the application procedures in a timely manner. He stressed that education is a fundamental right, and that the government is committed to supporting students and enabling them to build their futures on the foundations of knowledge and education.
