Sudan Flagge

Khartoum, July 3 (SUNA) – The Forces of Freedom and Change has declared its acceptance of the invitation of the African – Ethiopian mediation for direct negotiation with the Transitional Military Council (TMC) on the controversial issue between the two sides. The two parties are expected to engage in a sitting of direct negotiation at 07:00 p.m. today (Wednesday) on chairmanship of the Sovereign Council which is the single controversial issue in the negotiations between them, according to the leading figure of the Forces of Freedom and Change, Abbas Madani. In a press conference, Madani stated that the position of the Forces of Freedom and Change was to not to sit for direct negotiation with the TMC, but it responded to the mediation’s call, provided that they receive a written copy that includes the points proposed by the Forces of Freedom and change, review the confidence-building stages on the release of detainees, restoration of Internet service and setting a time frame for the negotiation. He said that it is impossible to talk about confidence building under existence of detained members of the Forces of Freedom and Change. Madani affirmed acceptance of the Forces of Freedom and Change to the direct negotiations for the sake of completing the political and diplomatic tracks, stressing that the Forces of Freedom and Change does not want to be responsible for disrupting diplomatic track. He added that the peaceful options are available to the Forces of of Freedom and Change, stressing that the peaceful escalation will remain available. MO
