Council of Ministers Discusses Human Trafficking, Protection of Sudanese Abroad

The Governance and Administration Sector of the Council of Ministers reviewed today, at a meeting headed by the Minister of Justice, Mohamed Saeed Al-Hilo, a report focused on national committee efforts to combat human trafficking in Sudan (2021-22).
The report was presented by the representative of the Ministry of Justice Maha Al-Sadiq Azraq, who explained that the National Committee has set a three year plan (2021, 2022 and 2023) targeting the combating of human trafficking, the protection of victims, the criminal prosecution of human traffickers and participation at the regional and international levels in related issues related. Azraq noted that the plan includes the activities that are to be implemented by a number of ministries, governmental institutions and foreign organizations.
The meeting also heard to a report on the visit conducted to Saudi Arabia by a delegation represents the National Mechanism for Protection of the Sudanese Working Abroad. The Secretary General of the Secretariat of the Sudanese Working Abroad, Dr. Makin Hamid Tarab said the visit to Saudi Arabia, came within the efforts related to the protection and support of Sudanese expatriates and legalizing their conditions in abroad, through the development of legislations, in a way that matches the needs of the labor markets and strengthen of relations with friendly and sisterly countries.
Meanwhile, the sector recommended the necessity of establishing labor attachés and continuing foreign visits to inspect the situations of the Sudanese working abroad.
