Khartoum, June 21 (SUNA) – The member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Dr. Salma Abdul-Jabar, received at the Republican Palace on Tuesday the Secretary General of the Sudanese Expatriates Authority, Makin Hamid Tirab, and discussed issues of the Sudanese working abroad, especially the issues of a social nature and the negative phenomena that have appeared lately. She was informed on details of a report about the results of the work of the negative phenomena committee that was formed on May 18, and its 16 recommendations amounting to 16, and due to be implemented through joint coordination between the Sovereignty Council and the executive Authority. The Secretary General of the Sudanese Expatriates Authority has called on the state to give concern to the combat of these negative phenomena by setting strict procedures to correct the situation abroad, including the accumulated cases of Sudanese nationals abroad that relate to criminal cases, grievances and security issues. He said that a national committee for protection of the Sudanese nationals abroad was formed and due to begin its work by a visit to Saudi Arabia after Eid Al-Adha to address issues of the Sudanese there, besides renewing the bilateral agreements pertinent to the labor and the security aspects.
Makin also announced completion of the Immigrant Commission Law, which will soon be enforced to address all the immigrants’ issues, including the illegal immigration. MO
