Malpass: International community ready to support democratic transition in Sudan

Khartoum, Sept 30 (SUNA) – The President of the World Bank Group, David Malpass has affirmed readiness of the World Bank, International Monetary Fund, t he United States of America, United Kingdom and France to assist Sudan to overcome economic difficulties and support the demo-cratic transition in the country. Malpass said in a press statement following his meeting with the Prime Minister that they dis-cussed economic situation in Sudan and how to help it improve the economic situation and the contribution of the international community to supporting the transition in Sudan. He said that he had come to Sudan with a high-level Delegation from the World Bank to support Sudan to surpass this critical stage. Malpass congratulated Sudan on reaching the decision point which makes it qualified for receiv-ing international assistances, stressing that Sudan is moving from the shortage stage to that of improvement of the economic situation.He called on the Sudanese people to work together with the government for addressing the eco-nomic difficulties.
