Minister of Finance and Northern State Governor Attend Launching of Wheat Harvest at Amtar Scheme

Khartoum, Mar. 15 (SUNA) – The Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, and the Wali (governor) of the Northern State, Prof. Amal Mohamed Izz-Eddin, the Undersecretary of the federal Ministry of Agriculture and other leaderships attended start of the operation for wheat harvest at Amtar Scheme in Al-Dabba Locality. The Minister of Finance and Economic Planning affirmed the state’s support and keenness to expand the cultivation of the wheat and to settle it in the Northern State and to benefit from the great capabilities available in the state. He said that the coming period will witness greater concern with the investment sector, adding that the Northern State will have the largest share of national and foreign investments. The Wali (governor) of the Northern State affirmed the state’s cooperation with the center to enhance the agricultural sector and to expand the cultivation of wheat to achieve be self-sufficiency in this crop. She indicated that the concentrated price of wheat, recently announced by the state, is an incentive and encouraging price for the farmers to double the areas planted with wheat. MO
