Arab Parliament calls for removing Sudan from terrorism list

Cairo, Dec. 3 (SUNA) - Arab Parliament Speaker Adel Abdul-Rahman Al-Asoumi has urged commitment to implementation of the decision to remove the name of the Sudan from the list of countries sponsoring terrorism on the set date, which is December 11, 2020, to pave the way for the return of Sudan to undertake its active and deserved role on the Arab and African arenas, and in the international community in general. The Speaker of the Arab Parliament expressed total rejection of attempts of some to use flimsy pretexts to postpone implementation of this decision, stressing the importance of alleviating the long-standing suffering of the brotherly Sudanese people during long years of political and economic isolation. The Speaker of the Arab Parliament appreciated the efforts made by the Sudanese government to remove Sudan from this list, and the endeavors it is making to achieve peace and stability in the country, stressing the Arab Parliament’s firm position regarding full and continuous support for everything that contributes to enhancing Sudan’s security and stability, in a way that achieves aspirations and hopes of the Sudanese people.
