South Koerdofan Welcomes UNHCR Official

Khadugli, Feb. 16 (SUNA) - The Acting Wali (governor) of South Kordofan State, Maj-General, Rashad Abdulhamid Ismail, on Sunday, welcomed the visiting United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Sudan Office, Noriko Yoshida. General, Rashad has affirmed in press statement to SUNA that his meeting with the international official focused on the situations of the refugees from the State of South Sudan and the increasing number of the refugees and the displaced in the host communities. He called on the UNHCR to open new offices in Dalanj and Abu-Jebeha localities. Meanwhile, the UNHCR Representative outlined that the visit aims at inspecting the situations of the refugees, the displaced and the returnees in South Kordofan State and the support extended bt the state’s government and the host communities in this connection.
