Armed Forces condemns assassination of West Darfur's Governor

The Armed Forces condemns in the strongest terms the treacherous behavior of the rebel Rapid Support Forces militia today in which it abducted and executed the governor of West Darfur Khamis Abdullah Abakr. "This monstrous behavior adds a new chapter to the barbaric crimes that they have been committing on the Sudanese people who have seen their crimes as never witnessed in the country’s history", the Armed Forces said, in an statement it issued on Wednesday, June 14.
The armed forces said that the betrayed governor was one of the heads of armed groups signatory to the Juba Peace Agreement and his apointment to his position was based on the agreement and has no relation to the conflict between the armed forces and the rebels "Heaven and eternity to the righteous martyrs", the statement added. The statement said that shame and disgrace to the treacherous, disloyal and mercenary militia".
