Abiy Ahmed meets delegations of National Consensus and National Movement blocs

The visiting Ethiopian Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed, met yesterday at the Republican Palace with a delegation from the National Consensus Bloc headed by Mubarak Al-Fadil and the National Movement Bloc headed by Dr. Al-Tijani Sisi. Al-Fadil said in a press statement that the meeting touched on the political situation in the country, noting that the delegation gave an explanation to the Ethiopian Prime Minister, including the vision of the bloc to address the political crisis in the country, adding that the transitional period should not be an arena for conflicts and tensions, given that it is a period that should be a bridge to move towards an elected government, referring to the failure that accompanied the transitional period. He said that the people of Sudan should agree on a formula for an independent government that leads to elections, noting that the Ethiopian Prime Minister stressed during the meeting the ability of the Sudanese to solve their problems by themselves.
For his part, Dr. Al-Tijani Sisi, head of the National Movement Bloc, explained that the delegation put forward some indicators that could contribute to resolving the political crisis in Sudan, indicating that what is happening in the country is a matter of concern, especially in light of the political, regional and tribal polarizations that the country is witnessing, and added that the Sudanese are capable to assume their responsibilities towards resolving the issues of the homeland. He said that the current circumstances that Sudan is going through do not enable any party to rule Sudan alone and exclude others, indicating that Sudan is a country that accommodates everyone and that everyone is partners in the national concern, stressing the importance of consensus on a program to manage the transitional period.
