June 23 - Minister of International Cooperation, Ambassador Adris Suliman, met today with the Resident Representative of the African Development Bank in Khartoum, Abdoul Kamara.
The meeting reviewed projects and programs financed by the Bank in Sudan, including water, health, education, the capacity building of public finance and macroeconomics, women empowerment, and the projects of combating drought and the provision of livelihoods. Particularly in the states of Kordofan, the Blue Nile and Darfur, in addition to the financing of some studies in the field of railways, water, economic development and agriculture.
The resident representative has demanded the publication of the comprehensive families' survey data.
On his part, the International Cooperation Minister praised the Bank's continuous efforts in supporting and the country's economic and social development.
He pledged the Bank help to the country's programs to move to the phase of development aid and providing assistance to the programs of public and private sectors partnership.
Ambassador Adris Suliman, has called on the Bank to contribute in the in the infrastructure projects such as railways, dam construction, support for small producers, the graduates employment , bridging the irrigation gap, and the projects of health and drinking water.
The Resident Representative of the African Development Bank in Khartoum, Abdoul Kamara has stressed the role of the International Cooperation Ministry in the coming phase, especially after the expected total lifting of the ban in July, and his role in the mobilization of the support and coordination with other development partners.
