African Union to Meet in Khartoum over Horn of Africa Concerns
2 Oct .2017- The African Union (AU) in coordination with IGAD and in cooperation with the government of Sudan will organize a meeting in Khartoum over peace,
security, stability and development in the Horn of Africa during the period 8 – 10 October.
The head of African Union office in Khartoum, Ambassador Mahmoud Kan stated to (smc) that the African Union Commission chief Moussa Faki Mahamat will launch the meeting on October 8th along with the Sudanese government representative, adding that the Head of the AUHIP, Thabo Mbeki will chair the sessions of the meeting which will be the practical start in the AU-HOA initiative to deliberate over all the issues of concern in order to come out with radical solutions for the benefit of the region and its people.
Ambassador Kan added that experts from all the Horn of Africa countries along with partners in Africa and outside the continent will participate in the meeting, pointing out that the African Union’s Commissioner for Peace and Security, Ismail Chergui has sent invitations to all concerned under the name of the African Union.
