The number of people arriving from areas controlled by the SPLM North to South Kordofan is increasing after about 600 people a month have arrived in Kadugli, the state capital, the UN has said.
A press release issued by the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), said last week that the food situation has deteriorated recently in the SPLM-controlled areas in the south of Kordofan.
According to South Kordofan authorities, 3,000 people arrived in areas controlled by the Sudanese army in the southern Kordofan state, where about 100 people are growing every month compared to last year.
The food situation in the areas controlled by the SPLM in the north of South Kordofan State has been classified as the third phase and is the candidate for the fourth and most dangerous phase of transition between June and September
A US proposal for aid to the two regions was stalled at the end of last year after the SPLM rejected the proposal and stipulated that it be introduced from outside the border while the government rejected these requirements.
